Vertana opens independent cancer opinion platform, free for the first 500 patients

MUMBAI, July 18, 2026 — Vertana (https://vertana.in) today opened registrations for an independent, conflict-free cancer opinion and navigation service, offering its first 500 patients a written opinion reviewed by a registered oncologist at no cost — across breast, lung, oral and head & neck, cervical and gynaecological, colorectal and gastrointestinal, and blood cancers.

A cancer diagnosis in India rarely arrives alone. It arrives with a decision attached: a surgery date, a treatment plan, a quotation. For most families, seeking a second opinion means another appointment, another queue, another fee — and rarely any certainty that the advice on offer is impartial. Vertana is built for the moment before that decision: newly diagnosed, facing surgery, or watching treatment stall.

Patients complete a structured, category-specific questionnaire, upload any existing reports or scans, and receive a report reviewed by a registered oncologist. It sets out a preliminary risk band, the findings behind it, the oncologist’s written opinion, the questions worth asking at the next appointment, and clear next steps. The report is designed to make that appointment faster, clearer and better informed — not to replace it.

The company’s model is its position. Vertana takes no commission on treatment, recommends no medicines, supplements or products, and earns nothing from where a patient goes next.

“Families in this situation don’t lack information — they lack someone with no stake in the answer,” said Prassant Kumar, Founder of Vertana. “In eighteen years of building systems for hospitals, I kept seeing the same pattern: the moment of maximum fear is the moment of minimum clarity. Vertana exists for exactly that moment.”

Prassant Kumar is CEO and co-founder of Caresoft Systems Private Limited, the Mumbai-based healthcare IT company he has bootstrapped for more than eighteen years and which today serves over 1,000 hospitals across India. Caresoft is assessed at CMMI Level 5 and certified to ISO 27001 and PCI DSS, with an ecosystem spanning hospital information systems, digital OPD and IPD, and the Medicircle health-media platform. Vertana is built on that foundation — clinical workflow, data security and hospital-grade infrastructure — rather than from a standing start.

The first 500 patients will receive their opinion free of charge. After that, Vertana will charge ₹99 per cancer category — a price set to keep an independent opinion within reach of any family that needs one, rather than to maximise revenue. Patient information is used solely to prepare the opinion and is handled in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Registrations are open now at vertana.in.
